What is Svensk Ungdom?

Svensk Ungdom, also known as SU, is the youth organisation of the Swedish People’s Party in Finland. We are politically a liberal organisation, and believe in the right of the individual to decide what is in the best interest for himself or herself. However, we do not want to see anyone ostracised from our society.

The parents’ gender should not affect when you’re building a family. A functional public transport system should be a viable option in both the cities and the countryside. Students should be entitled to a decent life, not live on a pittance. These and many other issues are the ones we’re actively working for.

Finland is a bi-lingual country, and we want to uphold and work for the status of the Swedish language in our country. In our view, every citizen has the right to basic services, e.g. medical attention and education, in their own language. We also strongly believe that multiculturalism enriches our nation.

Membership in SU is open to all Finnish citizens and foreigners permanently residing in Finland. If you feel that the earlier mentioned issues correspond to your own beliefs then why not consider joining us.
