Svensk Ungdom and Parliament

The Swedish People’s Party (Sfp) is represented by nine MPs in Parliament (Riksdagen, Eduskunta) and in the current government by two ministers. All MPs have their own personal assistant, and in many cases MPs who belong to the Swedish group are assisted by active members of SU.

Mikaela Nylander is SU’s own MP, elected from the district of Nyland and originally at home in Borgå in the last elections in 2003. She advocates our policies in Parliament and can be reached via her webpage.

The Swedish group, i.e. all the Sfp MPs (including the MP for Åland), gathers to a weekly session every Thursday in order to work through the political agenda. The chairman of the national board for SU is also invited, thus giving us a direct link to the Swedish group.
