Finland's most liberal youth organisation

The Swedish Youth of Finland works every day for a future where everyone is free to develop themselves, where it pays to work and where everyone feels good – regardless of where in the country you live or what your background is.

Equality for real

For us, liberalism means that everyone should be able to be themselves - regardless of their age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, background or disability. We want to see a Finland where citizens' rights are fulfilled regardless of where in the country you live. We want to increase the refugee quota and welcome labour migration - our Finland is open and compassionate.

For the good of student life

Students should be able to study full-time. A flexible job alongside their studies should also be realistic for those who want it. That's why SU (Svensk Ungdom) wants to see an increase in student grants and individual housing allowances. The study period is important for both the individual and society - everyone should be given the chance to find themselves and their place in society!

Sustainable economy

We define a sustainable economy as smart decisions for the future, a strong market economy that guarantees a functioning welfare state and a thriving planet. Business and entrepreneurship should be rewarded and encouraged. We want to see a green transition, less bureaucracy and for Finland to be a leader in sustainable technology and investments.

Your own freedom

The Swedish Youth of Finland safeguards your freedom in politics - whether it is your right to love whoever you want, or that our country is independent and democratic. However, we must not take freedom for granted - it must be defended in all decision-making.

If we young people don't make our voices heard—who will? Vote young!

Our society faces many challenges, ranging from the economy to healthcare and climate issues. How we address these challenges will particularly impact younger generations, who will have to live with the decisions made today. To ensure that young voices are heard on matters like healthcare, education, and the future of our communities, we need young decision-makers who will advocate for young people’s interests at the municipal level.

Only young people know what it’s like to be young today—choose an SU candidate in this spring’s election!

Read our election program

SU works for an equal, multilingual, and economically as well as ecologically sustainable country. In our election program, you can read about how Svensk Ungdom aims to tackle future challenges in areas such as the economy, healthcare, and education.

Why I am a member of SU

Hi, I’m Dan, President of the Swedish Youth of Finland. I chose SU (Svensk Ungdom) because membership enables me to stand up for human rights and a sustainable future. SU works for students to study without stress, for smart economic decisions and for the climate crisis to be stopped before it is too late – we need you too!

If you want to see a liberal society where everyone gets the support they need, I hope you’ll join us.
